Dr. Jesus Jara Will Continue as CCSD Superintendent Dear Powerful Parents, The CCSD Board of Trustees will be holding their regular board meeting on December 9th, 2021 at 5:00 pm. On November 18th the board voted to reconsider Dr. Jara's termination on a 4-3 vote. It seems an agreement has been reached between Dr. Jara and the Trustees and he will remain as Superintendent. Parents hope that moving forward there will be unity and focus on the challenges facing our students. Please plan to attend the board meeting on November 18th at 5:00 pm at the Greer Education Building located at 2832 East Flamingo Road, Las Vegas. CCSD Trustees to Reconsider Dr. Jara's Contract 11.18.21

Important Meeting of the Board of Trustees

Dr Jara's Termination, Hostile Work Environment and Agenda Items of Note Dear Powerful Parents, It is no secret that the education system in Clark County is broken. We just got our kids back to school and are dealing with the impact of a full year of lost learning. It would be easy to throw up our hands and walk away in disgust, but we must continue to engage. Parents have the right to demand more. Parents are disappointed at the dysfunction and unprofessional behavior from some of the trustees over the last year. This latest move to remove Dr. Jara, and then reconsider his termination, has left this district in chaos and will be very expensive. According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, "...the superintendent is owed more than 657,000 for the remainder of his contract and an additional 2 million dollars to settle alleged hostile work environment, retaliation, breach of contract and due process violations." Agenda lays out how Jara drama may unfold at next CCSD board meeting. This meeting agenda will include discussion on Dr. Jara's contract and allegations of a hostile work environment. SEAC committee appointments will also be discussed and possibly approved. Agenda Items of Importance 5.02 Trustees will review and likely approve the new Sex Education Advisory Committee (SEAC).
