You’re Invited: Constitution Bowl Kickoff + Live Leadership Simulation

Don't Miss: February 19th Kick-Off Event!

Hello!

We’re excited to officially invite students, parents, and coaches to the Constitution Bowl Kickoff Event on Thursday, February 19th, from 6:00–8:00 PM at TCMI Academy.

The Constitution Bowl competition is designed for 5th-grade students, but we are opening this kickoff event to students ages 10–12 , even if they’re still deciding whether they want to participate in the Constitution Bowl itself. Think of it as a high-energy preview that brings civic learning to life.

What to Expect at the Kickoff

  • Live leadership simulation facilitated by the Reagan Library, where students will step into real-world decision-making scenarios and experience leadership in action
  • An overview of the Constitution Bowl, a team-based civic knowledge competition centered on the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the Bill of Rights
  • A short, practical training for coaches and parent leaders, covering:
  • How to prepare teams for the April 18th Constitution Bowl
  • How to use our AI-powered learning platform to help students study smarter, build confidence, and perform their best on competition day

About the Constitution Bowl

The Constitution Bowl is a team competition designed to help students grow in civic knowledge, critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership. Teams of students prepare together over several weeks and then compete live on April 18th.

Students do not need to be committed to the Bowl to attend the kickoff. This event is a great way to:

  • Spark interest in civics and leadership
  • Experience the format before committing
  • Learn what participation would look like for students and coaches

We encourage families with students ages 10–12 to attend, even if you’re just curious. The kickoff is designed to be engaging, accessible, and inspiring, no prior experience required.

Because of You

Dear Friends, Donors, and Community Partners,

As we close out this year, our hearts are full of gratitude.

Because of you, Power2Parent has continued to stand in the gap for families, empowering parents, strengthening fathers, and opening doors of opportunity for children across our community. Your generosity, support, and belief in this mission have made a real and measurable difference.

This year reminded us of a simple truth we hold dear: when parents are empowered, kids are protected and communities are transformed.

Updates & Announcements

Fatherhood Project Milestones

This year marked a powerful moment for The Fatherhood Project with our first official class graduation in partnership with Hope for Prisoners. Watching fathers complete the program, committed to growth, accountability, and leadership in their families, was a reminder of why this work matters. We’re also thrilled to welcome Foster Kinship as a new community partner, expanding our reach to support families caring for vulnerable children.

Stocking Drive: Exceeding the Goal

Thanks to you, we didn’t just meet our goal, we surpassed it, filling over 500 stockings for children of incarcerated parents. Each stocking represented more than a gift; it was a message that these children are seen, valued, and remembered.

Education Freedom Expands

We were honored to receive the American Civics & History (ACH) Grant from the U.S. Department of Education, allowing us to grow our civic education efforts and invest in innovative programming for students.

This year also marked the first year of the EmpowerED Choice Scholarship, where we were able to scholarship 13 students—opening doors to educational opportunities their families otherwise could not access. Applications for Year 2 will open February 1st, and we’re excited to serve even more families in the coming year.

Upcoming Events

As we look ahead, we’re energized by what’s coming next:

  • Constitution Bowl Kickoff – Launching our inaugural year of this quiz-style civic competition, beginning with 5th grade and adding a grade level each year
  • 10-Year Anniversary Gala – March 27
  • Constitution Bowl Competition Day – April 17
  • Patriot Camp – June 8–12

Each of these milestones represents growth, sustainability, and our long-term commitment to parents and students in Nevada.

Year-End Giving: One Last Opportunity to Make an Impact

As we approach the end of the year, there is still time to make a meaningful difference. A year-end gift helps us:

  • Expand The Fatherhood Project to reach more dads
  • Grow the EmpowerED Choice Scholarship to serve additional students
  • Strengthen civic education through Patriot Camp and Constitution Bowl
  • Continue advocating for parental rights and education freedom

Your generosity fuels every program, every partnership, and every family we serve.

If you’re able, we invite you to make a year-end gift and help us step into the new year strong, prepared, and hopeful.

With Gratitude

From all of us at Power2Parent, thank you for believing in parents, standing up for kids, and walking alongside us this year. We truly could not do this work without you.

With deep gratitude,

Erin Phillips
