All hands on deck! Together we can bring more education choices to Nevada families. Here's how!

Hearing 4/26 at 6:00p on AB400

Expands School Choice. Here's how we get this done together. We need your voice!

Dear Powerful Parents and Community Members,

We invite all Nevada families to come out and support AB400 - a bill that will give families more choice in education.

Here is all you need to know about the bill and how to testify.

Even if you choose not to testify, your presence is powerful.

This Wednesday, April 26th, we will be gathering at the state capitol in Carson City and in Las Vegas at the Grant Sawyer building to show our support for better education. We will let lawmakers know that parents want to choose the classroom that works best for their child. Education is not a one-size-fits-all endeavor.

AB400 will provide the most significant investment in K-12 education and offer choice to families in the following ways:

  • Expands the Opportunity Scholarships program to serve more lower and middle-income families (making less than 150,000 annually) who would like to choose private school options.

  • Implements open zoning in major school districts, and ensures that Nevada's education system works better for every student, teacher, and family. Families will have more choices within the public school system.

  • Re-institutes "Read by Three," a proven initiative to give students a better chance at success. The popularity of this program was evident in recent polling.

  • Saves taxpayers money. Twenty-eight studies examined the financial impact for the taxpayers and public schools:
  • 25 found that school choice programs save taxpayers money
  • 3 found that school choice programs are revenue neutral
  • None found that school choice programs have a negative fiscal impact

We have provided this guide to help you with your testimonies. You will have 2 minutes to speak.
