AI For Edu Featured Resource: Khanmigo



Khanmigo is an AI virtual tutor and teaching assistant that uses ChatGPT-4 to interact with users in student or teacher mode. The tool, which is in its Beta testing phase, was developed by Khan Academy. 

Khanmigo can interact with students as a historical character, serve as a writing coach, engage in debate, and provide immediate computer coding instruction. Teachers can use the tool to assist with lesson planning.

Opinion: CCSD Should Think Twice Before Muzzling Meeting Attendees

A visiting pastor was removed from a Clark County School Board District Meeting on Sept. 28 when he read passages from “Flamer” by Mike Curato, a pornographic book available in the district school libraries. 

Pastor John Amanchukwu, of North Carolina, was interrupted during his allotted speaking time by Clark County School Board of Trustees President Evelyn Garcia Morales, who called his direct quotations from “Flamer” both ‘profane’ and ‘inappropriate.’ Garcia Morales stopped Amanchukwu’s time and had him escorted from the meeting place, along with several other meeting attendees.

“Flamer” by Mike Curato made the American Library Association’s list of the Top 13 Most Challenged Books in 2022 for LGBTQIA+ content and sexually explicit content. It currently sits on the shelves of school libraries within the Clark County School District.

The practice of expressing gratitude has tangible benefits for both mind and body. According to the Mayo Clinic, research studies show that practicing gratitude can decrease "depression, anxiety, difficulties with chronic pain and risk of disease."
