Heads up! Regulation and overreach coming your way.

Dear Powerful Parent,

It is the end of the third week of the 2019 legislative session in Carson City, and many of the bills up for debate reflect increased bureaucratic regulation and government overreach.

Some of the most concerning bills are:

SB179– Eliminating parental notification for abortions performed on minor girls

AB123– Onerous reporting requirements to the State on individual immunization status

AB187– Requiring children under 17 to wear bike helmets or face fines

SB159– Mandating sun protection in public and private schools

Some politicians are intent on diminishing parental rights, and inserting themselves as the experts on out children.

Parents do not give up their rights to teachers and administrators when they drop their children off at the schoolhouse door. Nevada Legislators should know that their constituents do not consider politicians and bureaucrats to be qualified to make important medical decisions for Nevada children. Parents' rights are fundamentally protected under the Constitution of the United States. It is imperative that parents, grandparents, and community members band together to uphold the freedoms we cherish individually and as families.

Power2Parent began as a grassroots organization and now is firmly established as the foremost parental rights coalition in the state of Nevada. We are closely watching these bills as they roll out, and we will keep you informed, and alerted so you can make your voices heard. Your representatives need to hear from you on these important issues.

Please share our alerts with friends and family. Encourage people to sign up for our email updates and follow us on social media.

We know our voices are vital in this fight to protect parental rights, and there is power in numbers!

Thank you for standing with us.

Respectfully,

Erin Phillips
President
