Protect Our Kids: Join Us Sept. 25

Dear Friends and Families,

Parents trust schools to be safe places for their children. That trust was shaken when it became clear that several CCSD teachers used social media to glorify or excuse the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

According to multiple news outlets, teachers posted statements such as:

  • One teacher wrote he couldn’t think of many people “more deserving of a gunshot wound to the neck.”
  • Another said he watched the video “over and over … loved every fraction of a second of it and it gets better with every watch.”
  • A teacher commented he was “not celebrating” Kirk’s death but “won’t feel sorry for the guy either.”
  • And another wrote simply: “you reap what you sow.”

Superintendent Jhone Ebert acknowledged that these posts caused a “substantial disruption” and raised safety concerns, and that the teachers involved are “not currently assigned to classrooms.”

This is a start, but it is not enough. Temporary reassignment does not restore parent trust. If students made comments like these, they would face immediate discipline. Teachers must be held to the same standard.

That’s why we are urging all parents to come to the next school board meeting:

Clark County School District Board Meeting

📅 Thursday, September 25 | ⏰ 5:00 PM

📍 2832 E. Flamingo Rd., Las Vegas

Your voice matters. Parents must send a united message: teachers who glorify violence should not be returned to classrooms in our district.
