Dear Parents, Grandparents and Concerned Community Members,
There will be an important meeting with the Sex Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) on Thursday, February 3rd 2022, at the Greer Education Center located at 2832 E. Flamingo Road in Las Vegas at 5:00 pm.
Appointed members of SEAC will be meeting to review and possibly approve additional sexuality education curriculum.
There is a big difference between the Health Education we currently offer and the proposed lessons by Advocates for Youth that will be discussed this Thursday. The biggest difference is that Health education focuses on the science of reproduction, the dangers STD's pose to health outcomes, the benefits of focusing on healthy friendships, and delaying sexual activity until adulthood.
Our community has strongly objected to sexuality education every year because we expect quality, unbiased instruction rather than agenda-driven lessons that encourage experimentation, early sexual debut and downplays the consequences of teen pregnancy and the dangers of STDs.
Education should elevate our children's minds and inspire them to seek excellence. That is what we expect from our public education.
What can we do as a community to make our voices heard?
1) Review the agenda and proposed lessons attached to this email and plan to attend the SEAC meeting this Thursday at 5:00pm.
2) Write or call your Trustee and let them know that Advocates for Youth does not belong in our schools. Tell them to protect our kids from agenda-driven sexuality education.

3.09 for grades 8-12
3.10 for grades 9-12
