Call to Action

Powerful Parents,

The CCSD Board of Trustees will be meeting this Thursday, April 8th at 5pm in the Las Vegas Auditorium located at 875 E. Clark Avenue. We are concerned that the district has not committed to opening our schools full-time this fall. Please join us in person at 4:45 in the lobby to sign up for public comment. Alternatively, you can call in or email your testimony with an example of what we are specifically asking in the next section.(email info in the graphic below).

They MUST hear from more parents now.

No Excuse for Continued Closure

Our state has reached all of the benchmarks established for safely re-opening schools in the following ways: less than 5% COVID positivity rate, hospitals are not overcrowded, and vaccines are readily available. Our message is clear; parents demand that CCSD in coordination with all key players, commit to reopening schools for all grades full time in the fall. Education is essential and parents need to know that their children will never experience an interruption like this again. Our children have a right to an education and the district is obligated to make sure that happens.

In the Media:

"The Clark County School District reports at least 20 students have died by suicide since distance education started last March. That number has more than doubled from 2019."

"Many families who are still grieving the sudden losses of their loved ones spoke with 8 News Now Reporter Cristen Drummond about moving forward. They told her various factors contributed to their child’s untimely deaths, but they also singled in on one issue: Isolation during distance learning."
