This is an exciting time for all of us who are part of this organization, and with so much happening, we wanted to share with you some of the things we've been up to on the ground. | | OPEN OUR SCHOOLS NOW PROTEST | | The "Open our Schools Now" rally was a huge success! Over 200 concerned parents, students, and community leaders showed up to express their concerns about the educational shutdown that has lasted over a year with devastating consequences. Parents and students made it clear that we want our schools re-opened, and our kids back full-time as soon as possible. Our combined voices were heard and the day of our rally, CCSD officials announced multiple return dates for K-12 with a goal to get all kids back to campuses. We are continuing to monitor the situation and are focused on 100% return by the fall. | | Special guests Sen. Scott Hammond, Councilwoman Victoria Seaman, Councilman Dan Stewart and Pamela Goynes-Brown spoke at the rally and expressed their support for opening schools. Five local media outlets reported on the rally which expanded our message and further raised awareness in the community. | | Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Power2Parent was able to attend CPAC 2021 in Orlando, FL! We had an exhibit in the CPAC Central Exhibition room, and were very fortunate to be able to share our message about parental rights and school choice with people from various states and countries! | | Our President, Erin Phillips, was featured on several local and national media outlets at CPAC's famous Media Row. We were also joined by fellow Nevadan, former Attorney General and gubernatorial candidate Adam Laxalt! | |
