"If you don't like your outcomes, change your responses." -Jack Canfield | If 2020 didn't go as well as you hoped and you're looking for 2021 to be better we've got the answer: Make it better! Jim Rohn puts it simply when he says, "You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself." The only way that 2021 will be different than 2020 is if you make it so.
No one can advocate for your child but you. At Power2Parent we do what we can to bring parents together to educate them on how to advocate for their children, but at the end of the day the only person who can represent your child is you. The only person who can email your school board representative, or legislator regarding your opinion is you. The only person who can steer the direction of your child's education is you.
If online school is not working for you then try a charter school or a micro school. If you're not happy with the curriculum you've been given, make the jump to homeschool. If your child is falling behind, talk with the teacher to see what you can do to get him/her on track.
If you' don't like what's happening, you're going to have to do something about it. We're here to help!
| | CONGRATULATIONS STEVE JOHNSON! | Steve is this month's Power2Teach winner of a $50 Amazon gift card and will be entered into our end of year $500 grand prize drawing. | | Steve was nominated by Shauna LeBlanc who had this to say about him:
"Steve Johnson teaches all chemistry at Churchill County High School. His enthusiasm, kindness, over-the-top effort, professionalism, and love of the students makes him a teacher my kids have loved, respected and appreciated beyond words. His love of his subject has influenced so many of his students to gone on into fields of science and medicine, including three of my four children, one who is currently in nursing school and one who is planning to become a radiologist. They first got their interest and excitement from Mr. Johnson. I know of many of his past students who went on to become pharmacists, nurses, engineers, etc. because they loved his classes. He takes the the time with individual students to make sure they understand and have the help they need. He also cares about his students outside of the classroom. I can honestly say if all teachers were like Mr. Steve Johnson, all our children would succeed."
Thank you, Steve, for being an outstanding teacher in Nevada! We love our Nevada teachers and want to show our appreciation in a BIG way!
