Parents! Only you can save the Opportunity Scholarship!

Dear Powerful Parents,

There are only six days left in this legislative session. The Opportunity Scholarships are not dead, and SB351 is a bill that can still fund the program!

Funding the Opportunity Scholarship program is making an investment in our children's future in Nevada and it uses less per pupil funding than public schools.

We are asking you to contact these legislators as well as Governor Sisolak and ask that SB351 receive a hearing. Please let them know that school choice shouldn't only be for the wealthy and well-connected.

Here are a few key points about the Opportunity Scholarship:

  • 74.1% of the families who utilize this scholarship are below 185% of poverty line

  • The average student takes $5000 from this program which is less than the average per pupil in Nevada

  • Frees up seats in overcrowded classrooms across the State

School choice is a fundamental parental right. No one knows the needs of their child better than the parents.

Thank you.

Alert! Abortion Legilastion Passes

Dear Powerful Parents,

Unfortunately SB179, an abortion bill, passed the Assembly 27 to 13 on Tuesday.

SB179 is a dangerous bill that eliminates the requirement that an abortion provider know the age of the person seeking an abortion. As a result, abusers and sex traffickers can shield their crimes by coercing young women into getting an abortion. Abortion providers do not have to notify parents when minor children seek services leaving parents unaware of their child's medical history and unable to make informed decisions regarding their emotional and physical care.

What can you do? Contact Governor Sisolak and ask him to veto the bill for the following reasons:

1) Parents would be unaware of their minor child's medical history, which deprives them of the ability to properly care for the emotional and physical well-being of their girls.

2) Providers do not have know the age of the patient making it easier for abusers and traffickers to cover their crimes and continue to coerce their victims.

3) Abortion without notification amounts to substandard care. Abortion is a procedure with physical and emotional consequences and there is no other procedure that a doctor can perform on a minor without permission from the parent.

Contact Governor Sisolak:

Carson City: 775-684-5670,

Las Vegas: 702-486-2500

We will continue to work with legislators in the remaining days of this 2019 Nevada Legislative Session. We work hard solely on grassroots community donations. Please consider making a recurring donation today so that we can continue to protect your right to parent.
