Important! Vaccine Mandate Meeting 9/1

Mandatory Vaccination Of All CCSD Employees
The CCSD Board of Trustees is holding a special board meeting on Wednesday September 1st, at 5:00 pm. The meeting will be held at the Clark County Government Center located at 500 Grand Central Parkway in the Commission Chambers.

Trustees will be considering a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for all district employees. Please refer to the link below to review the agenda.

  • CCSD is already short over 800 teachers. Taking away personal choice will result in further shortages. Teachers and subs will quit leaving parents without options.
  • Teachers at recent board meetings have testified to the fact that there are already issues with overcrowding. Some students are forced to sit on the floor because there are not enough seats to accommodate.
  • Medical mandates are especially concerning because these matters should be left to the individual and their physician.

Public comment will be heard at the beginning of the meeting. Those wishing to comment on non-agenda items will be heard at the end of the meeting.

You may sign up to testify by calling the Board office at 702-799-1072 at least 3 hours prior to the start of the meeting. Sign up cards can be turned in prior to the start of the meeting. Speakers are given 2 minutes to address the board.

Written public comments may be emailed to boardmtgcomments@nv.ccsd.net.

If the meeting is too full to accommodate all who want to attend, this is an open meeting violation and a complaint can be filed with the Attorney General's office. If anyone is prevented from attending, please contact Power2Parent.

JOIN US TO RALLY FOR PARENT CHOICE

MASK CHOICE RALLY
Join Us To Rally For Choice!
We are organizing 1 statewide protest in 3 locations on Wednesday August 11th at 6:00 p.m.

5100 W. Sahara, Las Vegas, NV
681 S Hwy 160, Pahrump, NV
Nevada State Capital 101 N. Carson Street, Carson City, NV

Students in the Clark County school district have been struggling to learn and engage with their teachers during the pandemic. While parents were supportive of “two weeks to slow the spread,” they did not anticipate that would turn into a year of learning loss, and the tragic deaths of 24 Clark County students to suicide.

We have learned a lot about COVID-19 over the last year, and medical studies show that this disease, even the Delta variant, is not deadly to children. The CDC reports that for the week of July 31 the rate of hospitalization with Covid for children 5 to 17 was 0.5 per 100,000, which would amount to roughly 250 patients in the entire United States.

In spite of these numbers, Governor Sisolak has decreed that every child should be in a mask at school. This mandate does not follow science. There are currently no conclusive studies that suggest that masks reduce COVID transmission in children. A North Carolina study conducted before vaccines were available found not a single case of student-to-teacher transmission when 90,000 students were in school. In fact, there are studies that show how masks can lead to real physical harm like headaches, anxiety, acne, impaired learning, drowsiness, fatigue and much more. Much to Forgive

Some children do not mind masks. Others really struggle. Parents, not the Governor, have the right to make medical decisions that impact the health and wellbeing of their children. We do not need to co-parent with Governor Sisolak and we have the right to decide what is best for our children concerning masking, testing and vaccination status.

According to Dr Makary, a professor at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine “Any child who wants to wear a mask should be free to do so. But forcing them to make personal, health and developmental sacrifices for the sake of adults...is abusive.

To be clear, Power2Parent is not against masking, testing or vaccines. We support choice. We want parents to be the decision makers when it comes to these important issues.

The foundation of a free society is choice!
