Illicit materials in our children’s hands AT SCHOOL, this is an outrage.

QUICK ACTION LINK:

Help us raise the $5,000 we need BY TONIGHT by chipping in now >>

The last 24 hours have been filled with press conferences and interviews making sure parents know what’s going on with pornographic and illicit materials in schools.

As you know, we made it CLEAR to CCSD that as parents we WILL NOT stand for pornography or illicit materials being disguised as literature in our classrooms. We have had an incredible response from parents as we fight back to make sure our children are protected.

However, we have to fund our fight.

We are a small, volunteer organization with families and children of our own. In order to keep up communication with parents, press, and our overall effort, we need help with funding.

Can we count on you to chip-in to help fund our fight? Every contribution makes a difference and helps us continue to run as a FOR PARENTS, BY PARENTS organization.

We need to raise $5,000 more before tonight to fund our fight. Will you help us by contributing $5, $10, $25, $100 or whatever you can today?

CHIP-IN TO HELP US RAISE THE $5,000 WE NEED BY TONIGHT

With what’s going on in the world today, it’s critical that we keep our children, their education, and their safety protected FIRST.

Help us advocate for you, your children, and your grandchildren by chipping in here now: https://secure.anedot.com/p2p/fight-back-fund-children-first

Thank you for being an incredible force for what’s right here in Nevada,

Charlie Melvin

Parents decry use of graphic novel at Palo Verde High School, showing depictions of sex

- 3 News Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Several parents in the Clark County School District are lashing out at Palo Verde High School for one of its reading suggestions, who say it shows a number of obscenities including depictions of sexual acts.

The group "Power2Parent" said the graphic novel “Fun Home" was added to a group of suggested reading lists given to several 10th grade students.

A website released by the self-proclaimed parent union revealed images depicting sexual acts and genitals of both sexes along with strong and suggestive language.

Parents also claimed the novel showcases drug use and "offensive anti-religious sentiments."

JOIN OUR PARENT ARMY!
ANNOUNCING OUR POWER2PARENT UNION
On August 27, 2020, hundreds gathered outside the Clark County School District Administrative Center to demand that schools open for face-to-face instruction with a strong plan and safety measures in place. Parents know what is best for their children. Governor Sisolak, teachers unions, and elected officials are not listening to parents. Well funded, special interest groups are catered to while leaving out the voices of thousands of parents, even though they are making decisions for our children. We may not be a special interest group, but we do have a special interest...our children!

Power2Parent is proud to announce our Power2Parent Union that will give families a more powerful collective voice to influence policy and legislation in Nevada.

FOR $25 PER YEAR

-Receive parent & child advocacy

-Be a part of a large collective voice of Nevada parents

-Take part in legislative efforts to protect children and families

-Have a voice in endorsing candidates that support protecting parent voice, families and children

-Be invited to exclusive parent events, meetings, town halls, and more

-Have access to board members for consultation on issues facing individual families

*Grandparents and/or concerned community members

We need an army of empowered parents and community members to influence elections, legislation, education and other issues to protect our parental voice.

POWER2TEACH
MONTHLY GIFT CARD WINNER
CONGRATULATIONS ROBIN PAUL-WOOLEVER!
Robin is this month's Power2Teach winner of a $50 Amazon gift card and will be entered into our end of year $500 grand prize drawing.
Robin is a 1st grade teacher at Winnemucca Grammar School. She was nominated by Megan McNeil who had this to say about her:

"I’d like to nominate Mrs. Paul-Woolever from Winnemucca Grammar School. My son had a very bad first year of school. He didn’t ever want to go. He felt like his teacher hated him. Than he went to WGS for 1st grade and got Mrs. Paul-Woolever. She helped him learn to love school. He was so excited to go every day. He has ADHD and Mrs. Paul-Woolever was so patient and kind with him. She knew exactly how to keep him happy and succeeding. She helped me and my husband come up with strategies for home to help him and anything we decided to do she also did in the classroom to keep it consistent. I will never be able to thank her enough for what she has done for my son and for us as parents. I will always be grateful for her. :)"

Thank you, Robin, for being an outstanding teacher in Nevada! We love our Nevada teachers and want to show our appreciation in a BIG way.

WHO IS YOUR CHILD'S FAVORITE TEACHER?
