On August 30th, the Legislative Committee pulled the Department of Education's Gender Diverse Regulation before the meeting began. Due to your numerous emails and phone calls prior to the meeting, lawmakers decided to hear and understand public concern regarding the policy before moving forward.
We are grateful to everyone who came and addressed the problems with this policy with respect to mandated speech, fairness and equity to all. Because of your tenacity, lawmakers heard 2.5 hours of public comment regarding these concerns. We do not know when the gender diverse regulation will come again before the committee, but it will likely be voted on at a later date. We will alert you to any developments.
