View In Browser POWER2PARENT.ORG Dear Powerful Parent,  I wanted to take a minute and share with you how Power2Parent got started. I attended an invite only CCSD meeting where a graphic sexuality education curriculum was introduced, suggesting kindergarteners be taught about topics like masturbation. I was appalled. Shortly after that, a group of parents gathered in someones living room and began to discuss the need for an organized effort to expose the degradation of parental rights. An organization that could inform, organize, and mobilize parents and community members to protect parental rights.  Power2Parent has grown in five years from a small group of parents to one of the most influential parents' rights groups in Nevada.  Our efforts to inform and organize parents in meetings and hearings has stopped bad policy and exposed dangerous agendas from groups who do not believe you should have the right to parent your children the way you see fit. In the 2017 legislative session, we stopped a Planned Parenthood backed bill aimed at taking away your right to know when your child would be taught sexuality education.    We are working hard everyday to monitor and hold people accountable for attempting to circumvent your fundamental right to parent.    Why is this so vitally important? Because if people don't know their rights and don't know that they are under attack everyday by well funded national groups, they will continue to weaken these rights. But, we cannot do it without you.    This is why we are participating in Giving Tuesday. We are heading into a legislative session where so many of your rights are at risk.
